Finding Wisdom in I May Be Wrong
I am sad to have finished I May Be Wrong by Björn Natthiko Lindeblad. This book is a reflective journey about navigating life’s uncertainties with calm, humility, and clarity. Lindeblad lived as a forest monk in Thailand for 17 years, while there he learned to let go of material attachments, cultivate mindfulness, and manage difficult emotions. His experience taught him how calmness brings clarity, that freedom comes from simplicity, and that inner peace is possible even in challenging times.
This book will stay with me forever. It’s filled with profound wisdom, and Björn’s expansive, light-hearted approach to talking about death is both comforting and inspiring. I May Be Wrong is a beautiful book that brings joy and peace, giving you so much to reflect on.
Meditation and Clarity: Lessons from I May Be Wrong
The story begins with Björn on the verge of becoming the youngest CFO in Spain, holding a high-powered finance job before giving it all up to become a forest monk. He wondered what people did when they meditated and, though he wasn’t very good at it, began to notice his inner life slowing down. A sense of calm emerged, and then, from nowhere, came a thought telling him it was time to move on. Here we are reminded that decisions aren’t made through logic alone, there’s intuition, wisdom, and the intelligence of the moment. Our bodies have a deep, often-overlooked intelligence that can lead us toward what’s right.
Reconnecting with Inner Joy and Intuition
As Einstein said, “Reason is a servant, intuition is a gift. We have made the servant the master and forgotten the gift.” Björn’s insights encourage us to reconnect with that gift.
The Transformative Power of Wisdom and Inner Peace
I was feeling down, anxious, and stagnant when I read this book. Though I was familiar with Buddhist ideas, Björn made them relatable in a way that felt personal. The book isn’t about Buddhism but is packed with life-changing wisdom on nearly every page. It’s one of those rare books that moves you deeply and will always hold a special place in your heart.
Embracing Life’s Uncertainties: Insights from I May Be Wrong
As Lindeblad neared the end of his life with ALS, he shared insights on accepting what cannot be controlled and approaching life’s unpredictability with grace and humour. This book isn’t about religion or prescribing a way to live but instead provides practical wisdom on relating to one’s thoughts and emotions, bringing more joy, freedom, and resilience to everyday life.
